In the solemn year of 1943, as families sought comfort in times of loss, Earl J. Vorhees established Vorhees Funeral Home a place of dignity, and unwavering service. For decades, the Vorhees name became synonymous with care, guiding generations through their most difficult moments with grace and respect. In 1968, a new chapter began when Donald W. Vorhees and Loretta F. Vorhees took ownership, dedicating themselves to upholding the legacy of excellence and heartfelt service. Their vision carried the funeral home into a new era, strengthening its role as a pillar of the community. Then, in 1993, Donald J. Ingwersen began his career at Vorhees Funeral Home while attending the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. With dedication and compassion, he worked tirelessly to support families in their time of grief. For many years, he remained a steadfast presence, learning the profound responsibility gently assisting those in need. His commitment only grew stronger, and in 2005, after years of service, he took full ownership of the funeral home.

In 2008 the funeral home took on a new name, Vorhees-Ingwersen Funeral Home, reflecting both its deep history and its forward-looking vision. Yet, through all its transformations, one thing has remained unchanged, its commitment to the families it serves.
