Walter Dyer

Walter (Bob) Dyer-74-of New Port Richey Fl, formerly of Little Ferry, NJ died peacefully at home on June 21, 2016 surrounded by his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy, his daughters Kelly Mercado and her husband Miguel, Erin Mercado and her husband Leo and his son, Keith Dyer and his wife Dina. Bob also leaves behind 5 beautiful granddaughters, Talya Rose, Molly Brielle, Abbye Lee, Mickaela Rose and Gabriela Jerzee. Bob joined the Little Ferry Police Department in Feb. 1969 and served proudly for 27 years before retiring as Deputy Chief. He was known to many as Bobby, Dep and Big Bobby D. Bob was a member of PBA Local 102, I.A.C.P., his beloved Honor Legion of NJ and many other organizations. He proudly served 2 terms as President of the Honor Legion from 1990 to 1992. Bob was a wonderful husband, great father and grandfather, good friend and mentor to many. He will be missed by all who knew him. In Lieu of flowers,donations to the American Heart Association, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visiting is at Voorhees Funeral Home Main Street Ridgefield Park NJ on Tuesday July 12th, 2016 from 3 PM til 7 PM.
