Vera Ruscingno

August 4, 1930 — May 7, 2025

It is with both sadness and pride that we announce the passing of our mother Vera Ranaudo Ruscingno.   Vera was beloved by not just her seven Children, 3 grandchildren, 4 Great grandchildren and her in-laws, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers but also her nieces and nephews and untold “adopted” children as well. She was the defacto mom to all her childrens’ friends, offering love and a meal whenever they needed it. She had a wonderful zest for life and a true empathetic soul, offering her last dollar to someone if they needed it.  In her 94 glorious years she shared with us her love of the holidays, cooking (her grandchildren are sharing this legacy), and her joy at playing card games, pinochle and Gin to name a couple).   A year didn’t go by that we didn’t enjoy watching “The Jolson Story” with her and having her remind us how “Dad would be amazed at the ability to rewind and watch Rosie you are my Posie as many times as he wanted to.”

Vera is pre-deceased by her loving husband and best friend Pete Ruscingno and her Son Thomas “Tommy” Ruscingno. She is survived by her Daughters Rosemary Ruscingno De Las Salas, and Donna Ruscingno, her four living sons Peter, Emil, Michael and Anthony Ruscingno, her daughter-in-laws Barbara Pergola Ruscingno and Kristyne Kozmoski Ruscingno.  Her Grandchildren Peter, Nicholas and Michael Ruscingno and Mykala Torres, Her biggest pride her great grandchildren, Matthew, Sophia and Dominick and Delilah, Her Brother Edward Ranaudo, dozens of nieces and nephews and untold others.

While we will miss her greatly, we take tremendous comfort that she was able to live a long and vibrant life right to the end and to leave us with dignity.  “She did it all and she stood tall and did it her way”.

A Memorial Service in Vera’s honor will be held on Thursday, May 15th, beginning at 4 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers we ask that you make donations to some of our Mom’s favorite charities St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Boystown The American Cancer Society The American Heart Association
