Thomas James Thompson

Thomas James Thompson, 75, of Ridgefield Park, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 7, 2023. Thomas was a kind and loving husband of Geraldine (nee Harkins) Thompson as well as an amazing father to TracyAnn, Thomas James and his wife Kelly, and Jacquelyn. The greatest joy in his life were his cherished grandchildren Samantha, Erika, Cesar, Madison, Peyton, Ryleigh, and great grandchildren Aaliyah and Aaron. He was the endeared brother of Clement and John and the late Michael and Joseph. He will be sadly missed by his faithful dog and “snack friend” Coco.

Thomas was born in New York, NY to Violet (nee Shook) and Michael Thompson. After graduating high school Thomas enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served in the Vietnam War and bravely fought along the coast of Tonka from the historic USS Intrepid. After his discharge from the navy, he worked as a Plant Manager at Pacquet Oneida, Inc., in Clifton. Thomas was a devoted member of the VFW. He was honored to fight for our country and enjoyed helping other veterans committing constructive service to his community. Thomas will be dearly missed by friends and family but will leave behind fond memories.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10th beginning at 4 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M. Funeral Mass Friday, August 11th, 11 A.M. at St. Francis R.C. Church concluding with Military Honors. Cremation will be private. The family has requested that remembrances be made in Thomas’s name to the Hackensack VA Clinic located at 385 Prospect Ave Hackensack, NJ 07601
