Sandella Olivia (nee Saroli) McAvoy, age 85, of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 23, 2026. Born in Glasgow, Scotland to the late Maria (nee DiMarcio) Saroli and the late Alfred Saroli. She was the cherished wife of John McAvoy of 62 years, whose companionship she lovingly teased and adored. Sandella was the devoted mother to Maria McAvoy and son in law Patrick Brennan, her beloved grandchildren also known as her angels, Cassandra Bosi and her husband Matthew, Justin McAvoy Brennan, Kristina McAvoy Brennan and significant other Galen, and Samantha McAvoy Brennan, and the late Patrick McAvoy Brennan, and her dear great grandchildren Justin, Savannah, Olivia, Preston, Julian, and Parker. She was preceded in death by her sister Elena Saroli.

A Homemaker by heart, she built her life around her family. She found peace and joy with her hands in soil, nurturing vibrant flowers and flourishing gardens that reflected her warmth. Her home was always filled with laughter, as she delighted in every conversation, every gathering, and every simple moment spent in the company of those she loved most. With a camera always close at hand, she found happiness in capturing life’s precious moments and memories. You could often find her with a smile, enjoying an ice cream cone side by side with her grandchildren. Sandella will be remembered for her playful spirit, humor and immeasurable love she gave to those around her.

A Celebration of Life in Sandella’s honor will be held on Saturday, March 28th, beginning at 9 A.M. and concluding at 11 A.M. Memorial Mass to follow, 11:30 A.M., at St. Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park
