Pedro Manuel Jimenez, age 44, of North Bergen, NJ passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, surrounded by love, after a long and courageous journey following a traumatic brain injury.
Born on October 2nd, 1981 in Secaucus, New Jersey, He was raised in West New York, NJ. Pedro was known for his kindness, infectious sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. Above all else, he was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father. His love was constant, steady, and deeply felt, and it will continue to live on through each of them.
Pedro was a proud and dedicated member of the Lodi Fire Department, where he served with honor since 2001. Shortly after September 11, he answered the call to serve, a testament to his bravery, selflessness, and deep commitment to protecting others. His career as a firefighter reflected the same courage and sense of duty that defined his life.
Pedro’s passing was, in many ways, his final heroic act. He did everything in his power to keep his young daughter out of harm’s way—a reflection of the same instinct to protect that led him to join the fire department over 25 years ago. His life was marked by quiet strength, sacrifice, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Outside of his service, Pedro found joy in the simple things—hunting, jiu-jitsu, fishing, and spending peaceful days at the beach ocean fishing with his beloved wife and truck by his side. These moments brought him happiness and connection, and they remain treasured memories for his family.
Pedro is survived by his beloved wife, Megan Dwyer - Jimenez; his cherished “Daddy’s girls,” Orla and Neila, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his loving parents, Pedro Jimenez and Gladys Jimenez; his siblings, Diosdada Cordero, Vickyana Jimenez, Jason Jimenez, Randy Jimenez, and Scarlet Jimenez; and his in-laws, Dennis and Laura Dwyer, Bryan and Christie Dwyer, Eamon Dwyer, and Joelle Ramirez.
Pedro was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephew, Ariel, Dahlia, and Elias, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is further survived by many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who loved him deeply and will forever cherish the memories they shared.
Pedro was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A hero in uniform and at home, Pedro’s greatest legacy lives on in the family he loved so fiercely.
