Obituary

Mayka I. Gomez, age 60, of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Born in Panama City, Panama, Mayka was the beloved daughter of Juana (nee Jaen) Gomez and Ramon Gomez. She carried an immense pride in her Panamanian heritage, always embracing her culture, traditions, and roots, which remained an important part of who she was throughout her life. Mayka was employed as a Receptionist at Infiniti of Englewood, where she brought her warm personality and welcoming presence to those around her. A woman of elegance and style, Mayka had a passion for fashion, clothing, and makeup. She took great pride in her appearance and always enjoyed looking her very best. She found happiness in gardening, taking pleasure in the beauty of flowers and plants, and loved to dance finding joy in every beat. Yet beyond her many interests, Mayka’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. Nothing meant more to her than the love she shared with those closest to her. She treasured time spent together, creating memories, sharing laughter, and celebrating life’s special moments. Mayka was the cherished wife of Jose Acosta, devoted mother of Abriell Acosta, and loving sister of Mayuri Gomez. She will be remembered for her spirit that was just as beautiful as she was and forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Mass in Mayka’s honor will be celebrated on Saturday, October 17th, beginning at 10 A.M. at Saint Francis R.C. Church, Ridgefield Park.
