Matthew Peter Terrace

Matthew P. Terrace, of River Edge, left us on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Matthew was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 11, 1943. He later moved with his family to Ramsey and graduated from Ramsey High School. After graduation, he served proudly in the US Navy. His tour of duty lasted from 1961-1965 where he served on a Mine Sweeper. His ship, the USS Fearless, took part in the Naval blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his Naval Service, Matthew worked in the real estate industry for over 50 years and served as President of the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors in 1990. Matthew is remembered by all for his warm and loving manner (and his powerful Caesar Salad). Matt is survived by his life partner Dolores Picone , his daughter Tara Terrace, his family of the heart Joseph, Nina, Cara and Kristin Picone & Shawn Hurd, and his nieces Donna Caloia, Deborah Terrace, Heather Borgersen and Meredith Arabas and their families. He is predeceased by his parents Joan and Peter Terrace and his brother Donald Terrace. Due to current health restrictions there will be no visitation. Together with his family, please remember Matt as we do, with love, laughter and fond memories.
