Mary (nee Le Fever) Welsek, age 83, a long time resident of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026 with her beloved children, Dawn DePalma and Jeffrey Welsek by her side. She was reunited with her husband of 60 years, John T. Welsek, her one true love who predeceased her. Mary’s greatest joy were her cherished grandchildren, Kaitlin DePalma, Nicole DePalma, Tyler Welsek, and Samantha Welsek, and her great grandsons, Thomas Welsek and Dominic Crugnola, who lit up her world.

For 42 years, Mary was a devoted Crossing Guard and Lunch Aide at the Roosevelt School, known for her warmth and love for children she cared for always ensuring keeping they were safe from harm’s way. She was also a proud member of the Ridgefield Park Ambulance Corps. Mary’s passions were simple but dear, she found happiness in family gatherings, tending to her garden, meticulously crafting embroidery pieces, dancing along to Elvis, and passionately cheering on the Jets and the Mets. Mary’s life was one of love, community, and family, and her legacy will live on in all those she touched.

A Visitation in Mary’s honor will be held on Thursday, April 9th, beginning at 4 P.M and concluding at 8 P.M. She will be laid to rest on Friday, April 10th, at Maple Grove Memorial Park Cemetery, 10 A.M., Hackensack.
