Obituary

In a world brightened by her warmth, Mary Elizabeth Clark, 72, of Ridgefield Park passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family she adored on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Born in Rhode Island to the late Margaret (nee Ramkin) Clark and the late Robert W. Clark, she carried their legacy of kindness and strength into everything she touched.

Mary was the beloved grandmother of her grandchildren, Deirdre, Maggie, Emily, Liam II, and Erin. An amazing helpful friend to her “faux” children Christal, Kelly, Liam, and Eamonn. She was a caring aunt to Joseph, Scott, Robert, Catherine, and John and great aunt to Jillian, Christopher, and Cynthia, expanding her circle of love across generations. She is survived by her sister Barbara Vajda (Frank) and Margaret (Meg) McNamara (Bill Pollen) and predeceased by her sister Frances A. Clark.

For many years, Marybeth dedicated herself as an Administrative Assistant at Farleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and students alike. Beyond her professional life, Marybeth was a woman of vibrancy. As a proud Elk of Elmwood Park, and a cherished member of the Ladies Who Lunch, she built lasting friendships over shared laughter, and devout parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church. Her love for animals was as genuine as her warmth, and she crotched every stitch with care, much like the way she nurtured those around her. She took delight in having her nails impeccably done a small, beautiful detail that mirrored the pride she took in living life fully.

Marybeth’s laughter and radiant personality filled every room, and her love for family was the foundation of her life. Though she left this world, her spirit remains woven into every memory, every laugh, and every tender moment we will forever remember.

A Visitation in Marybeth’s honor will be held on Thursday, May 7th, 4-8 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 8th at St. Francis R.C. Church beginning at 9:30 A.M. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, Paramus.
