Lorraine C. Carmoega Ortiz, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, June 4, 2026, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Above all else, Lorraine loved the Lord. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her with grace, compassion, and strength. She lived with a grateful heart and a steadfast devotion to God that inspired everyone around her.

Lorraine shared a beautiful marriage of 50 years with her beloved husband, Frederick J. Ortiz. Together they built a family grounded in love, faith, and enduring values.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Lorraine devoted 35 years of service to Pan American World Airways (Pan Am), including 10 years as a flight attendant. She embraced the opportunity to serve others and treasured the experiences and friendships she made throughout her career.

Lorraine’s greatest joy was her family. She delighted in gathering and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She also had a vibrant spirit and a passion for salsa music. Dancing brought her immense joy, and no artist held a more special place in her heart than Marc Anthony.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick J. Ortiz; her cherished daughter, Theresa Harrison; her parents, Rafael and Charlotte “Ita” (Fernandez) Carmoega; and her dear sister, Ana Nydia Lopez.

She is survived by her loving children, Cathy, Joy, Ralph and his fiancé, Noreen, Maria, and George; grandchildren, Samantha, George, Aida, Aelicia, Rachael, Lisa, Nicole, Erica, Stephanie, Taylor, Victoria, Anthony M., Anthony H., Jessica, and Asia; 21 great-grandchildren; and her nieces, Ana Maria Lopez Carmoega, Evangelina Lopez Carmoega, and Leslie Lopez Carmoega.

Those who knew Lorraine will remember her radiant smile, generous heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering love for God and Family. Her kindness touched, countless lives, and her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the songs played, and the love she instilled in generations of family.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she has entered into eternal rest, and is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord faithfully served.
