Kathleen T Murphy

Kathleen T. (nee McGeary) Murphy, a cherished soul, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 3, 2025 at the age of 84. Born in the bustling city of New York, she was the loving daughter of the late Mary (nee Doherty) McGeary and the late Peter McGeary. Kathleen was the beloved wife of the late James F. Murphy Sr., and a devoted mother to Kathy Abatemarco and her late husband Mike, MaryAnn Holton and her husband James, Debra Niekro and her late husband Joe, and the late James F. Murphy Jr., as well as a doting grandmother to Kristen, Gillian, Tiffany, Ashley, Shawn, Nicole, JoAnne, Kathleen, and JJ. Kathleen was also an endeared sister to Maryann Collins and the proud matriarch of a large, close-knit family, including 12 great grandchildren.

Kathleen’s warmth and kindness knew no bounds. She was a pillar of strength and love, always finding joy in the company of family and friends. Her laughter and compassion touched everyone who knew her. As a parishioner of St. Francis R.C. Church, Kathleen’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her with grace and compassion. In her professional life, Kathleen dedicated many years as a Customer Service Representative at Pathmark, where her kindness and dedication left a lasting impact on her colleagues and customers alike.

Kathleen’s legacy of unwavering bonds will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Visitation in Kathleen’s honor will be held on Sunday, November 9th, beginning at 2 P.M. and concluding at 6 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, November 10th, 9:30 A.M., at St. Francis R.C. Church. Entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee.
