Joseph J. Stauffer, of Staten Island, New York, passed away on September 4th at the age of 59.
Joseph was a devoted husband, father, and Pop Pop, whose greatest joy came from being with his family. He adored his wife Alyse and was her constant companion– always ready to make her smile, whether it was sharing quiet moments together or, with a wink and a laugh, tagging along on her shopping trips.
He especially cherished his three sons: Bradley; Dylan; and Michael. Together they shared countless rounds of golf, trips to sporting events, and time together that meant the world to him. Joseph also held a special place in his heart for his daughter-in-law Cortney, the mother of his two grandchildren.
His grandchildren, Kinsley and Christian, who affectionately called him Pop Pop, were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether making memories on trips to Disney or simply gathered at home, Joseph created lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
Joseph shared a close bond with his mother-in-law, Brenda, and was an important part of their home and family life. He was devoted to his beloved dog, Sparkles, who brought him joy and companionship every day, and he valued the relationships he had with Ashley, Dylan’s girlfriend, and Alexa, Michael’s girlfriend.
He had a lifelong passion for sports—coaching baseball, cheering on the NY Mets, NJ Devils and NY Giants, and enjoying the excitement of horse racing. His love of the game was matched only by the pride he felt watching those he coached and the happiness he found in sharing these moments with family and friends.
Joseph was also known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He always had a joke to tell, a funny Facebook post to share, or a thought he just couldn’t keep to himself. His humor and honesty brightened the lives of those around him and will be remembered with a smile.
He now joins his parents, Joseph D. Stauffer Jr. and Florence Stauffer, and is reunited with his late dog, Pringles.
Joseph is survived by his wife, his sons, his daughter-in-law, his grandchildren, his sons’ girlfriends, and his mother-in-law.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life.
