Janet Wilkens

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Marie (nee Poglio) Wilkens, a beloved matriarch, who left us on Saturday July 12, 2025, at the remarkable age of 90.  Born in West New York, NJ, Janet was the cherished daughter of the late Mary (nee Nagle) and the late Paul Poglio, and the devoted wife of the late Charles Wilkens.  A loving mother to Lynn Wagner and her husband Rodney, and Todd Wilkens and his wife Carianne, Janet’s legacy lives on through her adoring grandchildren, Troy and Olivia.  She was the endeared sister to Mildred, Paula, and the late Bernice, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Janet’s spirit was as vibrant as her love for life.  She found joy in every moment spent with her family and friends.  Known for her independence and her insatiable appetite, especially anything smothered in gravy.  Janet’s kindness and warmth touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all whom knew her.  Known for her unique and rambunctious personality, she truly savored life’s pleasures.  Though she has departed from this world, the impact of her love, laughter, and fond memories will forever remain in our hearts.

A Visitation in Janet’s honor will be held on Sunday, July 20th, beginning at 2 P.M. and concluding at 6 P.M with a Catholic Blessing.  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks remembrances be made in Janet’s name to the American Glaucoma Society at www.americanglaucomasociety.org
