James Peter Puleio

September 9, 1966 — November 5, 2025

James Peter Puleio, of Pompton Lakes, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the age of 59. Born in Teaneck, NJ to Mary (nee Antonuccio) Puleio and the late Peter Puleio, James was the cherished husband of 28 years to Joedy (nee Roth) Puleio and the loving father of Peter Puleio. He was a caring brother to Annmarie Puleio and her husband Joseph Sinisi, Salvatore Puleio, Joseph Puleio and his wife Marcia, Nancy Presti and her husband Jack, and Grace Fondacaro and her husband Larry. He is also survived by his beloved in laws Gail Cebular and her husband Ed, and Alice Candaras, along with sixteen adoring nieces and nephews, as well as many loving cousins and treasured friends.

James had a passion for the great outdoors, with camping being his favorite pastime; spending peaceful moments among nature. He was also a master of woodworking and a music enthusiast whose voice often filled his home with joy and harmony while cooking a delicious meal. James’ talent for landscaping turned his yard into a masterpiece, and he found happiness in every moment spent tending to his garden.

For many years, James worked as a Truck Driver for The Bergen Record and most recently at Kohler Distributing Company, where his dedication and work ethic left a lasting impact on his colleagues.

James’ commitment to his community lead him to service with the local Boy Scout troop, serving as Scout Master. He was also a board member for the Shade Tree Committee.

Above all, family was the center of James’ world. He was surrounded by love, not only from his immediate and extended family but also from countless friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. James’ legacy is one of love, creativity, and unwavering strength. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life in honor of James will be held on Tuesday, November 11th, beginning at 4 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M.
