Helen Anderson

Helen Mary (nee Sample) Anderson of Midland Park, NJ, formerly of Staten Island, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late John Elroy Anderson who passed away in 2014. Loving mother of Debra Detweiler and her husband George of Norristown, PA, Paul Anderson and his partner Judy Hofmeister of Little Ferry, NJ, and Robert Anderson and his partner Cara De Palma of Wharton, NJ. Dearest sister of the late Dorothy Austin. Cherished and devoted grandmother of eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 672 Drumgoole Road East, Staten Island, NY. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Helen’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
