Forsythe, Hazel (nee Wetzelberg) lifelong resident of Ridgefield Park passed away peacefully at the age of 96, after a period of declining health. She was born on March 24, 1920 to her parents Anna and Bruno Wetzelberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, William J. Forsythe, Sr. as well as her 4 siblings, Edward, Hugo and Eugene Wetzelberg, and her sister Lucille Mousted all formerly of Ridgefield Park. She worked for many years at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ as a Nurse’s Aide. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, The Senior Citizen’s Club, the Garden Club and the Woman’s Club. In her retirement years, she loved watching baseball, playing cards, dining out, and watching equestrian activities at Overpeck Park with her excellent care giver and loving son, Eugene. She loved reading, doing puzzles and had a wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by all nine of her loving children William J. Forsythe Jr. and wife Laura, Barbara A, Locascio, Eugene F. Forsythe, Wayne K. Forsythe and wife Yvonne, Janet E. Cammisa, Cynthia J. Dukette, Darlene G. Neville and husband Ronald, Paul D. Forsythe and wife Dannette, and David R. Forsythe and wife Maria. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday 10 am at Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home 59 Main Street Ridgefield Park, NJ followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Wednesday 5-9pm. If desired, donations in Hazel’s memory can be made to First Baptist Church, 101 Euclid Avenue, Ridgefield Park NJ 07660.
