Edith Barry

Edith Constance Barry November 14, 1925 – January 30, 2016 Edith Constance “Connie” Barry, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2016 in Schertz, Texas. Connie was the middle of five daughters born to Gilbert and Elsie Heath, both who emigrated from England in 1915. She lived in Ridgefield Park, NJ until moving to Texas in 1987. Connie graduated from Ridgefield Park High School and obtained her accounting degree from Rutgers University at age 57. She retired as a book keeper from International Paper and worked alongside her daughter Dorothy at Randolph Field Realty until the age of 86. Connie is preceded in death by son Robert Phillips, first husband Vincent Phillips, husband and love of her life Gordon Barry, sister Aileen Anderson, daughter Carol Clarke and sister Joan Hahn. Connie is survived by her sister Peggy Bombacigno (Barnegat, NJ), sister Franny Sgro (Nick of Lake Ariel, PA), son Richard Phillips (Marie of Sarasota, FL), daughter Dorothy Bartel (Terrance Wallace of Selma, TX), nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life was held on November 29, 2015 where family and friends from near and far helped celebrate Connie’s 90th birthday. A private family viewing was held in Schertz, TX on February 2nd. A graveside service will take place at George Washington Memorial Park on February 6th at 10:00am.
