Dikris S Malool

July 27, 1925 — June 22, 2024

Dikris S. Malool (nee Spear), 98, a long time resident of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 22, 2024. She was the beloved wife of 49 years to the late Raymond Malool. Dikris was the devoted mother of John Malool (Janet), and Paul Malool (Nancy). The greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren Ani Malool Lynch and her husband Greg, and Amanda and Emily Malool. She is predeceased by her brothers John and Edward Gagnon.

Dikris was born in Weehawken, NJ to the late Madelaine (nee Steuber) and Dikran Spear. She worked as a bookkeeper at Bergen Wholesale Meats in Hackensack for many years before her retirement. Dikris was an active member of her Church community. She was a parishioner of St. Leons Armenian church and a 50-year member of the church’s Women’s Guild. She was a member of the Ridgefield Park Women’s Club and served as the Secretary for many years. She was a Den Mother for Ridgefield Park Cub Scout Pack 7 in the 1960’s and 70’s.

Dikris was selected as the Parishioner of The Year in 1980 at St. Thomas Armenian Church in Tenafly. She worked as a volunteer Librarian for the Ridgefield Park Schools. Dikris knew community members are at the heart of healthy communities. She enjoyed volunteering and made it her goal to prioritize the integration and education of future members. She was kind to everyone and valued the happiness of others. Dikris humbly embraced her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother with unconditional love for her family. She had a deep love for her Church and Armenian Heritage. She was a trusted friend who was always there with words of encouragement. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
