David Schnepf, 59, of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Monday, July 13, 2026.

David was the beloved husband of Melody (née Acosta) Schnepf and the proud, devoted father of David Joseph and Mikayla Sophia Schnepf, who were the greatest joys of his life. He was the cherished son of the late Joseph Schnepf and the late Doris Auth; the loving brother of Susan Troise, Michael S., Joseph “Chippy,” Thomas, and the late Jeffery Schnepf; a proud dog dad to Penelope; and a treasured uncle, family member, and friend to many.

Born in the Bronx, New York, David built a long and dedicated career as a Field Technician for Verizon. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dependability, determination, and willingness to help others. A proud American, David approached life with passion and purpose, leaving a lasting impression everywhere he went.

David found both discipline and lifelong friendships at Rising Sun Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy and enjoyed the camaraderie of the Tenafly Gun Club. He had a deep appreciation for collecting watches, as well as a passion for cars and guns. These passions were more than hobbies—they reflected the pride, dedication, and enthusiasm with which he lived his life.

More than anything, David was a family man. Being a husband and father was the role he cherished most. His children were his world, and there was nothing he would not do for them. His love was constant, his support unwavering, and his presence a source of strength and comfort for those closest to him.

In his final years, David faced cancer with extraordinary courage and resilience. He was surrounded by the unwavering love of his wife, Melody, and his children, David and Mikayla, who cared for him around the clock with endless devotion, compassion, and love. Through every challenge, they remained by his side, honoring him with the same selfless love he had always shown them.

Throughout his life, David built an army of men who became his brothers—bound not by blood, but by loyalty, respect, and love. Through his battle with cancer, they never left his side. They stood with him through every fight, offering strength, encouragement, laughter, and unwavering support. Their brotherhood was a reflection of the kind of man David was and the impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

David will be remembered for his warmth, his strength, his unmistakable presence, and the love he gave so freely. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy lives on through his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation in David’s honor will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis R.C. Church in Ridgefield Park. A committal service will follow at East Ridgelawn Crematory Chapel in Clifton.
