Christina Salvatore

SALVATORE, CHRISTINA, (nee Chenet). age 82 of Jersey City passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 24, 2017. Christina was born in Union City to Mario and Marie Chenet. Christina devoted her life to her family, and to helping others. After raising her children, she went on to work in the Lutheran Home caring for elderly patients for many years. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lupo Salvatore, as well as her parents and her brother, Mario Chenet. She is survived by her sister, Loretta (Donald) Vorhees, sister in-law, Andrea Chenet, and her 8 children: Ralph (Colleen) Salvatore, Louis (Aleyda) Salvatore, Richard (Robert) Salvatore, Maria (Andrew) Bugliaro, Matthew (Patricia) Salvatore, Nancy (Mark) Rodrick, Gina (Serge) Puchinsky and Lisa (Fred) Jaramillo. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and loved by many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:30 am at St. James Church, 45 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in Christina’s memory to: Springfield Public Library, 66 Mountain Avenue, Springfield, NJ, 07081; St. Joseph’s School for the Blind, 761 Summit Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07307; or Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry 42 Elizabeth Street, Keyport, NJ 07735. These are some causes she respected most.
