Celso Gil

Celso Gil, of South Hackensack, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the age of 100 years. Celso was born in Espinoso, Spain to the late Constantina (nee Fernandez) and Celso Gil, Sr. He moved to the United States in 1963 and lived in Lawrence, Massachusetts, before settling in Hackensack, NJ in 1965. Prior to retiring, Celso worked for Goldberg Slipper Company in Hackensack. Parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Hackensack. His favorite pastime was watching futbol, especially Real Madrid. Beloved husband of the late Carmen (nee Atrio) Gil who passed away in 2008. Devoted father of Josefina Gil and her wife Lizz Squashic, and Lucia Gil and her husband, Matthew MacNaughton. Cherished grandfather of Matthew MacNaughton Jr. and Morgan MacNaughton. Adoring great-grandfather of Frances Carmen. Loving brother of Concepcion Araujo, and the late Francisco Gil, Emilia Gil, and Antonio Gil. The funeral service will be held 11:30AM on Monday, December 19th at Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10AM to 12PM. Cremation is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Celso’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
