Bernadette “Bunny” Leonard, a longtime resident of Ridgefield Park, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the age of 91.

Bunny was a devoted wife, mother, and friend who will be remembered for her warm and outgoing personality. She loved talking with people and could often be found enjoying a walk along Main Street with her beloved husband, the late Thomas J. Leonard. She especially enjoyed her weekly Friday trips to ShopRite on the senior bus, which gave her another opportunity to get out, socialize, and see familiar faces.

Bunny was a retired key punch operator for Consumers Marketing in South Hackensack. She later worked for many years as a bus aide for Student First Bus Co. in Englewood. She was also a faithful parishioner of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church.

In her free time, Bunny enjoyed gardening and had a special love for birds. She found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life, in staying connected with others, and in the people and places that were familiar to her.

Bunny was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Leonard and a loving mother. She is survived by her three children, Tara Leonard, Tiffany Leonard, and Thomas M. Leonard.

Bunny will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kind spirit, love of conversation, and warm presence will remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

A Visitation in Bernadette’s honor will be held on Wednesday, August 12th, beginning at 4 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 13th, TIME TBA, at St. Francis R.C. Church. Interment to follow at Ridgefield Cemetery, Ridgefield.
